Crafted by winemaker Richard Bonvin, The Pledge 1000 is sourced from five vineyards in the Uco Valley, the birthplace of Argentina's modern wine movement. Located at the base of the Andes, vineyards in Altamira, Gualtallary, Tupungato, La Consulta and Agrelo offer a perfect growing climate of warm days and cool nights. This phenomenon allows the grapes to achieve excellent fruit concentration, which is responsible for the wine's structure. Fine tannins, good acidity, and a judicious amount of new French oak, this is the Icon wine from one of our favorite Argentine producers. "A Malbec from the Uco Valley with grapes from different vineyards, aged for 24 months in a medley of barrels of varying experience. Overseen by Swiss oenologist Richard Bonvin, it presents a balsamic nose of thyme and plum with hints of wood, wax, and a touch of jam. Juicy in the mouth, offering gentle tannins and a little extract. Concentrated without being overbearing, it flows well and is full of flavor. An old-fashioned take on the Uco Valley."

Ripe, earthy berry aromas are on the savory and leathery side, while this pulls inward on the palate due to racy acidity. Tangy berry and black plum flavors are lightly herbal, while this doesn't show a lot besides mild oak on a long finish driven by perky acidity. Drink through 2025.
