This Syrah based Rhône-style blend is well-balanced and layered with aromas of rich dark cherry, plum and raspberry. Deep, fruit flavors of cherry and ripe plum are framed by velvety tannins. Grenache adds a hint of soft, bright red raspberries and Mouvèdre infuses the blend with spice and a bit of mocha. A splash of Viognier lifts the aromas and completes this richly textured blend

Wine maker notes

We harvested the grapes in September and October, as each varietal reached full maturity. We lightly crushed only half of the grapes, retaining the balance as whole berries. By allowing the 10-day fermentation to take place partially within whole berries (called carbonic maceration), we achieved a fruit-forward, supple wine style. We then pressed the wine and transferred it to oak barrels to complete malolactic fermentation and 15 months of aging.
