This refreshing style Chardonnay showcases citrus and lemon zest aromas, followed by a polished mouthful of stone fruit and a lively acidity. Our Chardonnay is ideal for poultry, seafood or simply dining al fresco.
The Cat Canyon vineyard provides the backbone for the Santa Barbara Collection Chardonnay. Cat Canyon is located in the Los Alamos subregion of Santa Barbara County, where temperatures are cooler than Santa Ynez, which lies to the south.

Don Ackerman, General Manager of our Santa Barbara County vineyards, Cat Canyon and North Canyon, describes the style of Santa Barbara Collection:
While I have great respect for the wines produced throughout the North Coast, I would say that our limiting soils produce less vigorous vine growth. So without a great deal of canopy manipulation, the fruit in our vineyards receives more exposure to sunlight. This produces wines that have a more vivid fruit character.
While some North Coast wines are like a three-piece suit, in that the fruit character may be subdued by heavy-handed oak or over-manipulation in the winery, our wines are more like an aloha shirt – a true expression of the wonderful Santa Barbara terroir.
